A Fond Farewell From Magaret

I think it is time for me to officially put in my formal retirement from
the Rotorua District Choir.

It has been a lifeline for me in many ways, I joined over  46 years ago,
riding my bicycle to Girls High School, Ernie Williams was the conductor and his wife Beth was the pianist. It wasn't the Rotorua District Choir then, we were the Carter Chorale, named for Nick Carter, an early conductor. No tea  breaks either! A daunting audition  "Find the middle note in this chord".......

My proudest moment was in 2010, holding a copy of our Book "Our Spirit sang all Day", written in collaboration with Dianne Estcourt for the 50th Anniversary since the Choir's foundation, 18 months of research, late nights, lots of laughter and tears!  The smell of new print and the glossy cover.

I will always treasure my time with Choir and wish you and Choir many
happy concerts yet to come.

Margaret.
